East Timor produces oil and natural gas. In 1974 the Timor Oil company explored oil in Suai and Betano on the south coast of East Timor. And currently several companies are exploring East Timor oil and natural gas in the Timor Sea. The East Timor government will get a royalty from this exploration and hopefully the government will use this money to develop the infrastructure of East Timor. When I went for a holiday in my village - Kamanasa, Suai, I took a few pictures of the two oil wells in Suai Loro. Please click on the picture to enlarge!
